One person found this helpful. I bought "Rain Forest" in the 60s just on the strength of the album cover. The music inside matched its joyful color and evocative, tropical lushness. Wanderley had his biggest hit with the "Summer Samba" on this record, I guess, but he went on to record two albums that were even better, "Cheganca" and "Batucada.

His improvisational finesse is at times absolutely amazing on these records and in a number of cuts on two later ones, "Moondreams" and "When It Was Done.

He was a wonderful, inspired, and, by the time he passed away, undeservedly marginalized musician. Cool music!

All instrumentals. A celebration of the Rain Forest before the eco-crisis. Lots of the leslie and vibrato. Includes a top 40 hit Summer Samba. Great cover art,note behind the tucan is the ruin of some ancient civilization now completely covered over with the jungle.

This is one of those quirky fast albums that one grows to treasure. Enjoy just as much as my original on reel to reel tape. I just simply love this CD! The music is absolutely enchanting. On this album are songs that they sometimes play on LP stations as "filler", without identifying what it is. A title search helped me find this. I was particularly drawn by Summer Samba and Girl From Ipanema, with highly articulated organ technique that is still listenable.
