The problem with trance is that there are too many great songs that were made and that is still made since this genre just keep on growing and I find it somewhat difficult to keep up with all the great ones that are released. That's why I welcome your list since I found a few songs I did not know even exist and I love them.
I think you really did a neat job with the list. It's understandable that one cannot put every trance song that's really good on a 25 list, there is simply way too many. Taking that into account, I want to thank you for a list I really enjoy and I'm also glad I found your website, it's great! Check this guys. Ron van den buken timeless remix. Wheres Cafe Del Mar? Age of Love? Why is Forever today the number 1 track on here? These tracks are all pretty mediocre or have been done before.
Compared to these, Airwave and Children should have been at the top of the list. Paul van Dyk has made way better tracks than 'Let Go'. Words, For an Angel, and his remix of Love simulation are much better.
No oliver lieb tracks are on here either, what a shame. Also, the fact that He's a pirate is on here instantly makes this list x worse. Go do your homework before posting a shitty list like this.
How in the world did Paul Oakenfold or Perry Forsten not make this list either. Simply disgusted with this. Only a couple on here worthy of a top Just a humble opinion. Since when did you listen to this genreThe Cowards Trance - Racetraitor · Burn It Down - Make Them Talk (CD), buddy!
I also hate Tiesto's so called compilationsIn Search of SunriseMagik Journeyswhere he jangles others workspretending he made it! You must be out of our mind to say such a thing. He didn't pretend it's his stuff, he made a compilation and showed it to the public. ISOS is great and larger than you'll ever be.
A few weeks before reading this article i stumbled upon Spirit within you on youtube. It's an absolute masterpiece!! Top 5 at least on my The Cowards Trance - Racetraitor · Burn It Down - Make Them Talk (CD) Hi, like me I can tell you have listened to a LOT of trance, fair bit of variety in there. To each his own, but I find this trance list utter bullox.
There's a lot better trance out there than some bland and bizarre melodies. It's your list and there are some nice tracks in there, however I would like you to consider the following tracks:. Rank 1's Airwave is an absolute classic!!
I particularly like the updated vocal mix of this track. I say stuff all the tossers who sold out trance. There are very few trance DJ's left, but Alex Morph is one of them, and these two tracks are easily number 1 deadheat. First thing I want to say is don't listen to these haters; this list is golden. While I do think everyone is entitled to their opinion, these songs are some of the most uplifting trance songs there are.
On another note, this list made me want to make my own list of tracks. There's nothing I love more than the awe-inspiring, raw emotion that can come from a great trance track, especially when you have memories attached to it. While my list has some tracks that are more upbeat than most on this list I think you guys will like it.
These songs have given me so much joy and I hope they can do the same for you. Also even though I put these songs in order frommost of these songs you just can't put in order. Though I encourage you to listen all the way through cause they get better down the list. Amazing, I need to upload it so that everybody else can here it. Where can I do that? Everybody has got a say in the comments Well done Sir! Trance is wonderful, I always have a good night out at Trance events except the latest Slinky which was pay more, get through the queue that they just made up and I didn't feel the vibe of the clubbers of the late nineties early 00's but that is when I started clubbing I never got to Passion Coalville, I chickened out of the trance night for a boshing Hard House.
I don't like the way music changes Trance and Hard House kind of fell by the wayside when Hardstlyle and breakbeats stuff come in. I prefer nice clean stuff. I can listen to my Vinyl all day and my children love it. In many traditional cultures, rhythmic loops can be extended over a period of days during protracted religious ceremonies. Entire communities become involved in these ceremonies The Cowards Trance - Racetraitor · Burn It Down - Make Them Talk (CD) are often coordinated and directed by the local mystic or 'Shaman. They are also given the role of 'mediator' between the physical world and the ethereal 'spirit' The Cowards Trance - Racetraitor · Burn It Down - Make Them Talk (CD) and trance ceremonies are often for this purpose.
The Shaman connects with this spirit world and communicates with his followers through a variety of means; verbal, artistic, and through physical expression like dance. Their music has had a tremendous impact on Nigerian folk music and involves trance inducing rhythms performed on calabash, lute and fiddle.
During the ceremonies, many 'marginalized' groups fall into trances and perform exaggerated and exhibitionistic behaviours, unacceptable in their normal day-to-day social interactions including mimicking animals and extreme sexual behaviours. The performers in these rituals tend to take on various 'personalities' and live out a life remote from their own largely repressed existence.
In this way, trance music would seem to serve a vital and important role, common to many countries. Allowing people to step outside their daily reality and experience a life they can normally only live out in their subconscious.
In many ways you can see the same behavior mirrored in western society with Stage Hypnotists, where volunteers from the audience are supposedly placed into a deep trance and then act out uncharacteristic and demeaning behaviors in front of the local community.
Ivan Pavlov, Public Domain The psychologist and physiologist Ivan Pavlov believed that hypnosis, which is similar to trance, is caused by a lower brain function and 'partial sleep', while other psychologists, like Graham Wagstaff have claimed that hypnosis is actually a form of learned social behavior, that it is a complex hybrid of social compliance, relaxation and suggestibility- this may explain trance states as a behavior brought on by the 'relaxation' caused by subtle and extended rhythms.
Anthropologist Audrey Butt has noted that there is a correspondence in many communities between breath and spirit, which indicates there may also be a correlation between specific breathing techniques used for inducing altered states of consciousness. This also goes towards reinforcing the idea that trance states are simply a means of relaxing an individual and giving them permission to 'let loose' and behave in a manner they wouldn't normally allow themselves to behave in. Many Shaman use 'performance enhancers' to help them achieve their trance state.
In addition to fasting or strictly observed diets, the Shaman can, in some cultures, ingest cannabis or psychedelic mushrooms. The Maya used leaves from wild tobacco plants and smoked them to help induce trance through deep concentration. Alcohol was also commonly used in Mayan rituals as a vehicle through which to alter consciousness and achieve another plane of reasoning.
Trance music's history is intimately linked with a number of intoxicants; most commonly alcohols, though today drugs like 'ecstasy' serve the same function. Similarly, the ancient 'Dionysian Mysteries' of Greece were founded as homage to the god of wine and intoxication himself, Dionysus. The Dionysian Mysteries were an ancient initiation ceremony that first took shape in Minoan Crete between and BC.
When it was absorbed into mainstream Greek culture, it evolved into a complex and arcane mystery religion that made extensive use of intoxicants and trance-inducing techniques including music and dance so as to remove inhibitions and artificial societal restraints and to liberate the participant to a more 'primal' and 'natural' state.
Due to this, it was hugely popular with Greece's enormous slave class. At the cult's height, the Dionysian rites were almost exclusively associated with women, who were drawn to it as it afforded a certain degree of liberation in the repressive male-dominated society of Greece at that time.
