This was actually my first actual album that I bought inand I was disappointed due to how "slow paced" it is The title track is actually what got me into rock music About the vinyl reissue, the presentation is great, but sadly The first record came perfectly clean while Side 3 had a nasty scratch but thankfully, it didn't make one pop The sound quality is not perfect Overall, it's an okay reissue One person found this helpful.
I've always felt like this album didn't get the credit it deserves. All of the songs are very catchy and I think the entire band allow their creative juices to flow more freely on this one. Each song has its own identity.
I give both the original album a 5-star rating as well as the vinyl release of it. In regards to the vinyl edition. This is a great deal! The sound quality is great and you get the added bonus of having the additional songs that weren't on the original album release.
Give this one a few listens as it will grow on you. I still will even go as far as to say it's as good or better as much of their older work. Firstly, I love this album and used to have it on CD. I was extremely excited when I found out it was being released on vinyl.
That said, I have to say that upon opening came some major disappointments. Firstly, I discovered that this isn't g vinyl at all! Secondly, it's VERY noisy, even upon cleaning. Thirdly, upon initial examination I found that record 1, side 1, track 3 has a nasty scuff on it. It's very noticeable when you get to that spot while playing, as well. I've had a lot of problems with brand new vinyl releases.
I will probably return this in exchange for another copy. I would really rather trade for a CD copy at this point, but when I checked availability, I discovered only third-party used and new copies that are way overpriced. No brand new ones, Amazon? I know one thing -- after this, I'm finally fed up with purchasing brand new vinyl pressings in general. Aerosmith can do MUCH better than this and has I'm not sure what they were going through when they made this album, but it falls short of their proven skills as musicians.
I'd skip this one and go to Music From Another Dimension, a true-to-force Aerosmith quality of sound. This is my favorite album from them by far actually probably in my top 10 albums period, and I listen to a loooootttt of music from a loooott of genres. I love the old material, but this is just the right mixture of maturity and 'rough and tumble' rock 'n roll. The spatial palette is rich with enough textures to hear a new one every time you listen.
This is one of those albums that as soon as I put it on the first time, I was captivated. I listened to the whole thing right Album) and many times sense then. Still great and fun music for my commute, thankfully I have a CD player, because my stereo has issues and this is the only way to listen to music without being distracted with my mp3. Bought the mp3 how do I download it! The mp3 file. Im not getting the music app, it keeps it.
I want the mp3 file and the music app wont give it to me. Paid for an mp3 file now what? I could have played in the music app for free so what exactly did I pay for? See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. After Get A Grip this Album Nine Lives Album) prove to be the last of their great albums this is Aerosmith using up their nineth life but as with Get A Grip this album is a time capsule of Aerosmith at their greatest peak. Report abuse. Good album from classic band.
My fab album of all time, Nine Lives - Aerosmith - Nine Lives (CD. This is my second copy after wearing the other out! I Album) discovered Aerosmith recently after going on the Rock 'N' Roller coaster at Disney world, After that I can't get enough of their music!
Another Nine Lives - Aerosmith - Nine Lives (CD album by Aerosmith. I used to have it and saw them on the tour. They were spectacular. The hit single is probably the worst song on it! For one thing, it can't be ignored that a multitude of songs on this album are basically borrowing from the exact same framework as songs such as 'Dude looks like a lady' 'Falling in love''Livin on the edge' 'Hole in my soul' and 'Crazy' 'Full circle'.
Discounting the bouncy title track, the eccentric 'Crash' and well-known single 'Pink', there are just too many moments where generic, re-hashed song structures replace the funnier, rowdier side of Aerosmith, and you have to question yourself whether the band are even supposed to be producing albums like this anymore.
Yet these are few and far between, because it seems all too often as if the band have been stuck on auto-pilot. There is seriously a surplus amount of filler to be found here. Its like the rotten corpse of a once fresh warrior with the body of a Hercules on steroids. Better still, like a cat that, once smelling fresh and living in a luxurious mansion, is now on its death-bed waiting to end life once and for all. Thus, their twelfth album was released, and left to fester in a world that has much better albums of the same genre to offer.
